The Spark That Started It All
At Ember Clothing, we believe that warmth should move with you — not sit in the corner of a warehouse collecting dust.
Our story begins in the heart of a 6,000sqm New Zealand distribution centre during the bitter depths of winter. Our founder, a leader in the logistics industry, faced a challenge that will sound familiar to many Kiwi professionals: keeping a hardworking, on-the-move team warm in an
environment too vast to heat and too dynamic for traditional heating solutions.
Too many sick days, too many complaints, too much lost productivity. People were freezing and something had to change!
So when space heaters and layering up fell short, the answer became clear — heat the person, not the place.
Heated vests weren’t a new concept, but they were either:
- Heavy-duty builders’ gear with a bank breaking price tag and simply too bulky for most professionals, or
- Overseas knockoffs with long shipping times, questionable materials, and zero guarantees.
What arrived was not warmth — it was disappointment.
Vest after vest failed to deliver: scratchy fabrics, awkward fits, unreliable heating. It wasn’t just about staying warm anymore — it became a mission to build something better.
